Mirion Technologies Provides Radiation Monitoring Safety Equipment for Two German Nuclear Power Plants
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Mirion Technologies Radiation Monitoring Systems (RMS) Division announced that it has received an order to supply digital neutron flux monitoring channels for the Philippsburg and Neckarwestheim nuclear power plants in Germany. Both plants are owned by the German energy company EnBW Kernkraft GmbH.
The Mirion equipment includes both DAK 250 and DGK 250 digital channels systems from the MGPI-H&B product line. The DAK 250 digital start-up channel is designed for neutron flux monitoring in the pulse and intermediate range while the DGK 250 digital power range channel is designed for monitoring in the power range. Both digital channel systems have been installed in Philippsburg unit 2 while the DGK 250 system has been installed at Neckarwestheim unit 2. These systems link to, and form part of, the reactor protection systems in boiling water reactors (BWRs), pressurized water reactors (PWRs) and research reactors.
