Mirion Technologies Contributes Radiation Monitoring Equipment to Japan

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mirion Technologies today announced the donation of 700 radiation monitoring dosimeters to support the first responders assisting with the ongoing relief efforts in Japan. Mirion's customer EDF/GRP-Saint-Denis (Electricite de France / Groupe Prevention des Risques) supported the donation by supplying part of these dosimeters which Mirion then retrofitted, while Mirion provided the balance from its own stock. The donated dosimeters will assist with the measurement and recording of the total accumulated dose of ionizing radiation received by the first responders in Japan.

"Mirion Technologies and its employees are deeply saddened by the loss life and devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan," stated Antony Besso, President of Mirion's Health Physics Division.
